[177Lu]Lu-DOTA-STR-17126 is a radiopharmaceutical candidate being developed as part of a theranostic pair for the management of advanced or metastatic cancers, specifically breast and prostate cancer. It consists of the radionuclide lutetium-177 (177Lu) complexed with the DOTA-STR-17126 precursor, which targets the gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR). GRPR is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including prostate and breast cancers. In the context of the Phase 0 exploratory study, a low dose of [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-STR-17126 is used for SPECT imaging and radiation dosimetry to evaluate the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of the tracer, following initial PET imaging with its gallium-68 labeled counterpart, [68Ga]Ga-DOTA-STR-17126.
